Hosted by Muş Alparslan University and with the contributions of ISPEC, the 7th International Congress on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development was completed with very broad participation. As Honorary President, our Rector Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat also attended the congress, which was held online on the 18th and 19th of September.

Chaired by the Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Congress started with Prof. Yaşar Karadağ’s speech. Congress opening and protocol speeches were respectively made by Ayman El Sabah from Siirt University, Assist. Prof. Serkan Ateş from Oregon State University in the USA, Rector of Siirt University Prof. Nihat Şindak and our Rector Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat. In his greeting speech Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat thanked Siirt University Rector Prof. Nihat Şindak, Siirt University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Seyithan Seydoş, Rector of Bingöl University Prof. İbrahim Çapak and the academic staff of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Muş Alparslan University, the congress scientific committee, the congress organizing committee and the congress secretariat under Prof. Yaşar Karadağ’s presidency. With a greeting speech in Turkish, English and Arabic Prof. Polat noted that the congress addressing very important issues and enriched with the papers presented by participants from all over the world was the first agriculture congress with such a large number of presentations within the body of ISPEC, and wished this science feast to be beneficial to our university, Muş agriculture, the region and our country.

The congress was attended from 5 continents and 30 countries.

In his speech Prof. Yaşar Karadağ stated: “The papers presented at the congress were evaluated by the double-blind referee method. Siirt University and Bingöl University also took part in the process as international congress organizing committee within the scope of Pilot State University implementation. Congress papers cover a wide range of topics. Papers were accepted on subjects such as field crops, horticulture, plant protection, biosystem engineering, landscape architecture, agricultural economics, agricultural biotechnology, soil science and plant nutrition, agricultural machinery, zootechnics, aquaculture, food, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, meat and dairy technology, veterinary, economy, rural development, agricultural policies, political science, irrigation systems, banking and agricultural loans, farmers' unions, solar and wind energy, environment, agricultural employment and agricultural product imports. A total of 240 researchers, 111 from Turkey and 129 from abroad, participated in our congress. This is a very important participation for such a congress. We hosted participants from Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Australia at our congress. Researchers from Turkey, Algeria, Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, Georgia, Indonesia, India, Iran, Israel, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Portugal, Philippines, Russia, Romania, Serbia, South Africa, Tunisia, Ukraine and Vietnam contributed significantly to the congress by presenting their papers.

All accepted papers will be published in the Congress Proceedings

Karadağ continued his statement as follows: “A quota of 45% was reserved for the participation from Turkey in the congress, and the papers from Turkey were evaluated by keeping this quota. One of the most important features of our congress is that it has met the criteria of associate professorship and academic incentives. Proceedings with ISBN will also be published after the congress. I wish the 7th International Congress on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development which was hosted by Muş Alparslan University Faculty of Applied Sciences, to be beneficial to the scientific community of our country and region, particularly Muş and the producers of our region.
