Muş Alparslan University has taken another important step in its agricultural studies with the “Common Application and Research Centre for Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops in Rough Forage” to be established.
With the decision taken by the Higher Education Executive Board, “Common Application and Research Centre for Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops in Rough Forage” was established within the body of Muş Alparslan University at the meeting dated 15.09.2021.
The aims of the joint research centre were stated as carrying out scientific and technological R&D activities related to the 11th Development Plan targets published and put into action by the Presidency; cooperating with other universities in activities as well as identifying specific projects to be carried out on preferential and guided research and development; managing time and processes effectively; utilizing human resources and physical infrastructures efficiently and presenting information and roadmaps on subjects such as the definition of goals and outputs.
The Joint Application and Research Centre for Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops, which was established under the coordination of our University Rector Fethi Ahmet Polat and with the participation and support of Rector of Çukurova University Prof. Meryem Tuncel, Rector of Dicle University Prof. Mehmet Karakoç, Rector of Ondokuz Mayıs University Prof. Yavuz Ünal as stakeholder rectors, will likewise be the focus of many studies in the field of animal husbandry. The joint signing ceremony, which will be attended by the rectors of the established centre, will be held in Ankara on October 5, 2021.
In the application and research centre, which will operate in partnership with Muş Alparslan University, Çukurova University, Dicle University and Ondokuz Mayıs University, meadow-pasture and forage crops as a source of quality roughage, which is the most important need of animal husbandry sector, will be examined with R&D projects and scientific studies. CoHE (Council of Higher Education), TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and Presidency of Strategy and Budget will also provide staff, project and financial support to these studies.
Rector Polat, who stated that a comprehensive statement about the centre will be shared with the public in the next days, expressed his gratitude to Rector of Çukurova University Prof. Meryem Tuncel, Rector of Dicle University Prof. Mehmet Karakoç and Rector of Ondokuz Mayıs University Prof. Yavuz Ünal. In addition to extending his thanks to Muş Alparslan University Faculty Member Prof. Yaşar Karadağ, Çukurova University Faculty Member Prof. Rüştü Hatipoğlu, Dicle University Faculty Member Prof. Davut Karaaslan and Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty Member Prof. İlknur Ayan for their support in the production section, Polat expressed that he was looking forward to seeing the first concrete works of the centre.
Rector Polat, who emphasized that the centre that was established will have invaluable gains for our university, added that he wholeheartedly believes that thanks to this centre, very valuable studies will emerge especially for our province, region and country’s animal husbandry.
