Rivulis Irrigation Systems Chief Engineer Dr. Ali Fehmi Soygeniş gave a seminar on "The Past, Current Situation and Future of Sugar Beet Agriculture in Turkey" at our university.

Coordinator of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Montenegro's opening speech was delivered by our Rector Prof. Dr. He started by conveying Mustafa Alican's message to the guests. Karadağ said, “Muş has an important place in sugar beet and sugar production. In the production season of 2022, a total of 5.89 tons of production was made.” He stated that as a result of a doctoral thesis study carried out, the sugar beet varieties with the highest root stem and polar sugar ratio are recommended to the farmers in Muş.
Muş Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Acting Plant Production and Branch Manager Samet Aşkın, in his speech, said that the agricultural areas of Muş consist of 4 large plains and the Murat River, which starts from the Malazgirt plain and passes through the middle of the Bulanık, Liz and Muş plains, makes a great contribution to sugar beet production.
After the opening speeches, Rivulis Irrigation Systems Chief Engineer Dr. Ali Fehmi Soygeniş made the presentation of the seminar. The seminar ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation by Karadağ to Soygeniş after the question and answer session.
