Muş Alparslan University Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ stated that important progress has been made in the selection breeding work for the Muş Tulip, which is an endemic species and symbol of Muş.

In his speech, Karadağ said, “Our Rector of Muş Tulip Application and Research Center Directorate, which works on the promotion, conservation, cultivation, variety development and breeding technique of Muş Tulip (Tulipa sintenisii Baker), which is the symbol of Muş and an endemic species. . Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat continues to work effectively with the support of our teacher. We have made important progress in the "Muş Tulip (Tulipa sintenisii Baker) Selection Breeding Study" supported by our Rectorate as a Guided Project for 4 years. At the end of the production season, we have obtained genotypes that yield 3-4 juvenile bulbs from each bulb that adversely affects mass production and reproduction, especially in Muş Tulips. We hope that we will be able to obtain a new variety or varieties in a few years with our selection breeding studies in Muş Tulip.” Said.
